1935年秋天，红军进入草地，许多同志得了肠胃病。我和两个小同志病得实在跟不上队伍了，于是派炊事长班长照顾我们。不到半个月，两袋青稞吃完了，老班长到处找野菜，找草根，可还是找不到，老班长看我们一天天瘦下去，他整天整夜不合眼。
